Road Trip 2011 + The Life of the Unemployed

Dad and I made it back to MD in one piece! Well I guess 2 pieces....
5 days in the Corolla got a bit old, but that's all in the past now. I've been home for 3 weeks and my boredom level has gotten to an all time high. Playing Wii and watching 30 Rock is fun for a while... now I need something to occupy my time during the job search.
So, I'm going to start a picture/video a day project. Not that original, buuut I think it's going to be pretty fun.

Here are a few pics from our road trip. After you get through New Mexico there isn't much to look at... so all of the pics are pre-Texas.

The desert makes my throat dry...

I have retired from the magic show! After a year and a half in Vegas I've found that it's really not the place for me. Actually, the whole west coast doesn't really float my boat anymore, so I'm moving back east! (hopefully for good, all this moving around is getting old)

That's right, in 22 days I will be in the car with Dad making my way back to MD. My goal is to find a sweet job in the DC area, so if you know of anyone hiring... hit me up... please.

Anyways Hawaii was super awesome. Kauai was unreal. Next visit I just want to stay there for 10 days.... or a few months. The water was clear, the hiking and kayaking was amazing annnnd we didn't get food poisoning like we did in Maui. (If the peanut butter is expired, don't think it's fine and eat it, not a good idea)

Here's some pics of our adventures!

I got a Pineapple on my head, but don't call me a Pineapple Head

What do you do when you work for a touring magic show with no tour in sight? Cry a bit? NOPE, we travel on our own time!
That's right, we are jetting off on the 16th to Maui and then heading over to Kauai. I am super puuuuuumped!
I'll be taking my 2nd + surf lesson from Danny, and we will be hiking the sh*t out of some volcanos, while drinking mai tai's and hula dancing.
I bought a sweet new camera, some fins, and storage bags for all those pineapples I'm going to be smuggling back to Vegas (shhh, the produce here blowwws).

I'll take some pics of my new water shoes shortly... be jealous.

New Apt!

I'm a blogging machine today... watch out!

We got the boot from the MGM so we all got apartments about 10 minutes away. It's great, I love not living out of a suitcase. Well... for the most part.

Here's the new pad...

Peru Peru Peru

Late blog as usual....

I will summarize Peru in 1 word: awesome.
Other than the 24 hour flights we had to and from Cusco, we had a great time.

We spent the first couple days getting acclimated to the elevation in Cusco, then headed to Pisaq, about a 30 minute taxi ride from Cusco. We hiked the mountain, which was all steps(dislike), and learned that sunblock is probs a smart thing to wear. My skin was bubbling by the end of the trip because of this hike. Lame.
Then off the Macchu Picchu we went! Well we started our 4 day trek through the Andes. It was beautiful and it hardly rained. 1 Negative: Inca steps. One day we hiked for 4 hours up steps, then had to descend another 3 hours down steps. Then had to do it basically again. Extreme.
The food was great, the views were amazing and the tour guide taught us all about the Incas and the Spaniards.
I totally recommend this trip to anyone that can deal with some exercise and loves views and history.

Here's some pics!!

(P.S. if you ever go to Lima, don't buy jewelry from guys on the street. Fake $50 said whhaaat)
